After a long and torturous house hunting process, we finally were able to get the house of our dreams! Looking back now, I can see why none of the other houses worked out. This is exactly where we need to be. Our house basically fell into our laps. I was kind of discouraged, so I wasn't really looking at houses all that much, but one day I decided to look on the MLS website and there were a few new listings that had just been put on. Built in 2008, 4 bedrooms, 3 bathrooms, 2 car garage, amazing kitchen, room to grow...it was everything we wanted and more! We went and looked at the house, I instantly fell in love, and we immediately put an offer on the table. Luckily, this house was bank-owned so the process was sooo much faster than the short sales we had been dealing with. After 2 days, we found out our offer had been accepted! It took a month to get everything settled and done, but it was well worth it. We were able to move in during August, so we have officially been homeowners for a month and a half. I absolutely love having a home I can call my own and know that this is the place we'll begin our future!

the CRA-ZAY life!
So most everyone knows that Carlos and I have been looking at houses to buy. Things were going great, we had an offer on a house we really like in Stansbury and things felt good. Well last week, we went and started looking at more houses, just in case, ya know a "back up house." We found a really cute one in Tooele that was the same price as the one we had the offer on. So we put an offer on that one as well. Sooo glad we decided to find a back up house, because one day later, we got a call from our agent saying that after 3 long months of waiting, the bank was countering for 34,000 more than we offered. How ridiculous! I absolutely hate that they dragged out the process for 3 months! We had already offered the max that we wanted to go, so we declined and pulled our offer. Well, seriously not even an hour later, I got a phone call from our land lord saying that he wasn't going to let us rent month to month until we found a house, that he already had a year contract lined up. Uh WTF! so in the course of a few hours we found out that we were going to be homeless. AWESOME!
Well luckily I have the greatest parents ever and they are going to let us move back in with them until we find a house. It's going to be a little weird living under the same roof again with the parents and the sisters.... I really really REALLY have mixed feelings about the whole thing, but I am glad that we have a place to live and it will be kinda nice to not have to pay rent or a mortgage yet.
It's so crazy how life can change on a dime. I really expected to already have a house and enjoying it to its fullest. but i guess that's not where our path leads just yet. It's been frustrating, disheartening, depressing, infuriating, etc... but I know that what is meant to happen will happen. we just have to take it one day at a time!

25 Things I Didn't Know About Marriage...
Hi all. My goal is to try and post at least once a month to keep everyone updated. It's quite hard to do that though with no internet...:( I'm counting down the days until we move and can finally have some convenient access! But I digress... SO... It's been quite an adventure for the last 6 months. Yesterday was our 6 month anniversary!! I seriously cannot believe how quick time has gone by... I have grown and learned a lot in those 6 months and here are a few of the things I have learned. 25. Just because you dated someone for a really long time, does not mean you know all of their habits... lol. 24. It doesn't matter what size your bed is, it will never be big enough especially if your spouse tosses and turns all night... 23. Meal time is an adventure.... I thought I knew how to cook, but apparently not! 22. Marriage turns you lazy. I never used let Carlos see me without makeup or looking my best and now I just don't care. lol. 21.Top Ramen is still a staple. I thought it was only going to be like that in college... lol. 20. Saving money is hard! Even more so now that it's times two!! 19. Check out your neighbors BEFORE you sign a contract! We currently live next to a weed dealer who is on the sex offender list for answering the door naked on Halloween... 18. Don't get a puppy who hasn't been trained to do anything yet... need I say more? 17. And don't hand raise a kitten you found abandoned either....because it's almost a sin not to keep him after you save his life. lol. 16. Men turn into helpless children when they are sick. Carlos asked me to get him his bottle of water that was literally on the table right next to him... It reminds me of the commercial for cold medicine where the guy asks for the remote that is right next to him. I laughed so hard when I saw that because it really happens! 15. Living in a really small apartment to save money seems like a good idea, but it really isn't. Our apartment doesn't have a heater, so we have space heaters. The place is literally falling apart. There is absolutely no room to store anything. and if you get the place cleaned and then you have to get something out, it looks like your house exploded because the rooms are small and we have too much crap! 14. On that same note, if your apartment floods (true story), just run away and don't look back. 13. It seems like when you get married, you're parents get more crazy and more embarrassing. My parents think they have to crack jokes and tell stories every time we come over. and they are sooo not comedians... 12. The days seem shorter and time goes faster. Like for reals. Can you believe it's already April!? 11. You adapt to your spouses likes and dislikes. For instant, somehow I am now a Chargers fan and I don't like mushrooms all that much anymore. lol. and now for the final top ten: 10. It feels like family is so much more important. I kind of took my family for granted and now it's so special when I get to see them and hang out with them. 9. In laws aren't so bad... at least mine aren't. They are so dang cute! They have spanish accents so when they talk, I just can't stop smiling. 8. You and your spouse turn into one person. We aren't Brynn and/or Carlos. We're BrynnandCarlos or CarlosandBrynn. 7. Giving presents and surprising your spouse is soooo much fun! Even little things like baking a cake or surprising them with a special dinner. It's just so. much. fun! 6. Arguements can happen over anything. and I mean literally anything. I never thought I'd see the day when I was mad at someone for putting the toilet paper on the wrong way or for not squeezing the toothpaste from the bottom and not the middle. 5. Men get PMS too. Except it's PMS backwards, SMP. Serious Male Problems. They get emotional and moody for no reason just like us. lol. 4. No matter how long or short you've been married, if you're at all queasy or sick, someone always says "oh my gosh you're pregnant aren't you!?" Seriously, can I not just be sick?? 3. House hunting is hard. And it's a constant roller coaster of "this is so much fun" and "well this sucks" and "why did we decide to buy a house" and "I can't wait until we get a house." 2. Every day is a new adventure. Nothing ever goes the way I think it will or like I've planned. 1. I never realized how much I could love another person. How someone could fit so perfectly and completely into your life and that you realize how broken you'd be if that piece was ever gone. Or how I'd never give a second thought to dying for that other person or protecting them. Love and life never cease to amaze me. I am so completely happy in my not so perfect, adventure filled, crazy existence with my partner in crime, my best friend, the love of my life. The last 6 months have been the best and I cannot wait for more months, years, decades, centuries, all of eternity with you Carlos.
